Etched Naked Raku

Etched Naked Raku is created by applying colored slip to pots before the initial bisque firing, thereby creating a “canvas” for the next step.  A sacrificial slip is applied for the final firing and a design can be drawn in the slip that will crack and allow carbon to seep into the “picture”, as well as the crackle, creating a beautiful and distinct black pattern.

Naked Raku pieces are art and not food safe or watertight!
