Barrel Fired

Barrel firing heats pottery that has been burnished, sealed with terra sigillata, and bisque fired in an open-air wood and other combustibles fire that is laced with salts, iron oxide, copper carbonate, etc. Temperatures reach 1000° F and higher. The flames, smoke and colorants work magic, kissing each piece with the unique chemical reactions. Each piece is hand-buffed and final sealed.

Barrel fired pieces are art and not food safe or watertight!
